What’s Your REAL REASON For Blogging…???

Welcome back !! If you enjoy this post, be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed. It's a GREAT WAY to get all sorts of helpful FREE TRAINING AND TIPS !!

I bet you’re thinking it’s to make money! NOPE… It’s not.

Let me explain….

You may at first think your reason to have a blog is to make money. It’s not. That’s just a byproduct of your blogging.
Your real reason to blog is to create relationships with your readers and other bloggers.
This is sometimes where people realize they are not cut out to be bloggers  and there are a lot of people blogging that SHOULDN’T be blogging !!!

Blogging is at it’s very heart is a social endeavor. You need to create relationships as a blogger to have a really successful blog. It is the quality of those relationships that allow people to get to know you … like you and TRUST you enough to do business with you.

Creating A Relationship With Your Readers…

When you create a relationship with your reader they feel like they know you. They feel like you are talking to them when you write your posts. They identify with your content.

This is very much  like making friends with someone. As people we LOVE to listen to a recommendation from a friend than a stranger.

Think about this for a second…. When was the last time you watched or heard a commercial for a new product ~ be it a movie, a book, a kitchen gadget ~ whatever…. Did you run out and buy it based on the commercial? If you are anything like me…you started asking some of your friends if they knew anything about it….right…???

If it has anything to do with a kitchen gadget I am the one that my friends call first… because I know the inside deal on kitchen equipment. However… when I need the inside scoop on something that someone else knows about… I check with them. I LOVE  having friends that I can trust to tell  me the truth about a product!!

So what I’m saying here is … you need to create relationships with and get to know your readers. Take the time to interact with them … help them get honest answers to their questions… help them solve a problem by really being their friend !!!
Creating Relationships With Other Bloggers…

Developing great relationships with other bloggers is really important to YOUR long term blogging success because having allies and friends is VITAL in the blogoshpere. One email mention from someone that has a big list of loyal readers and a big following of raving fans can change your entire business.  However… no one is going to mention you to their readers if they don’t know you… like you and TRUST you.

I’ll tell you right now that just emailing people and asking them to promote you or your stuff … mention you and recommend you to their readers …or whatever it is you want them to do for you is not going to work unless they know who you are and like you.

Creating relationships with other bloggers creates opportunities for joint ventures, for guest blogging opportunities, for link swaps… the list goes on. But you can’t do any of those things without first creating a relationship with some of the other bloggers in your industry !!!

How To Create and Develop Powerful Blogging Relationships…

With Your Readers …

This one is VERY simple. You must consistently create excellent pillar (the meat and potatoes) type of content that supports your blog. People will learn that they can trust you to have new and valuable content which means that they’ll keep coming back.

If the content is truly valuable … helpful … inspiring ~ whatever is appropriate to your industry … your readers will not only keep coming back… they will tell other people about it as well.

Ask for comments. Start a conversation. Then participate. Answer your comments ~ ALWAYS.

When someone has gone to the trouble of starting a conversation on your blog, respond to them. Simple as that. Your comment replies are one of the biggest assets you have to creating and nurturing a relationship with your readers.

With Other Bloggers…

Start reading and commenting on THEIR blogs !!! This is the single best ways to start a relationship with them. Take a minute and send the other blogger an email. Do this after you’ve been commenting for a while and they are familiar with your name.

Don’t ask them for anything, or try to get anything from them. Just make personal contact. Tell them what you love about their blog. Be sure to THANK THEM for their content. Tell them a story about what you learned or were able to do or how were you helped by their posts. (I personally LOVE it when I get “Fan Mail”!! It is HUGE for me when I know that I have been able to HELP someone or make a difference for them.) I guarantee that you will be remembered if you do this.

For those of you using Social Media …Tweet their stuff … Share their information on Facebook. This is a great way to create and grow relationships If you use the @theirusername they will know you did it. They will remember you if you do it regularly. (and the chances are really good that they will start retweeting and Facebooking you too ~ which is a HUGE benefit to you … this is what is called “Content Syndication” and it provides extraordinary leverage for everyone !!!  And…if you don’t know what I am talking about right now… don’t worry… I will go over this a bit later in this information series and show you how it all ties together !!!)

For some more basic information about business blogging … take a minute to read a post I wrote about building credibility and trust with your blog !!!

Take a second to leave a comment or ask a question !!! I would LOVE to be able to HELP YOU !!!

I am so glad that my good friend Scott Manesis likes to share GREAT goodies with us !!!

Today he compiled a really comprehensive list of RSS Feed Directories…

You might be wondering what an RSS Feed Directory is so here you go….

An RSS feed is basically a short summary of your blog posts that gets updated as you update your blog. Many people will actually just subscribe to your blogs RSS feed rather than visiting the actual site everyday. This way they can view an excerpt of your most recent 3-6 posts (typically) and decide if they want to visityour blog to read the rest of the article.

Submitting your site to RSS Feed directories can bring your blog a fair amount of traffic all by itself. When you get some extra time, run through this list of feed directories and submit your blog. Over the next few weeks you will notice quite a bit more traffic coming to your site!  WARNING this is HIGHLY labor intensive …. it will take a couple of days to get it all done an the process is different for each site !!

How Can I Improve My Blog…???

Can your blog explain what it is all about in 30 seconds or less…???

If you aren’t sure… or if you are looking to improve your blog (which is a question that I am frequently asked) … take  a few minutes to watch this video from Yaro Starak on “How To Make a Good First Impression With Your Blog”

YouTube Preview Image

If you would like to have a quick review of YOUR blog…. leave a comment down below and I will be happy to take a peek at your blog and let you know if you are on the right track !!!

Did you get your free copy of “Dead Blogs Don’t Lie” yet…??? If not….what are you waiting for…??? It is getting RAVE reviews !!!

High Level Copywriting For Free…???

Dozens of skills come in handy when you sell online…

Video, programming, graphics,  proficiency with all sorts of traffic, teleseminars and webinars… the list is endless.

Pretty overwhelming actually.

But there is one skill that absolutely trumps them all…

And that skill is….

Persuasive writing … Copywriting

Even if your forte is video, somebody has to write  a script and somebody has to give the video a name  and description that convinces somebody to click  “play.”

Once you have this one skill under your belt…EVERYTHNG becomes easier. You have a built-in competitive advantage in JUST ABOUT EVERY situation you find yourself in.

And it’s kind of like driving a car. Once you know how… that knowledge is yours forever….

It becomes like “muscle memory” …no matter what you say or do… people pay more  attention to you than everyone else…

And THAT is VERY IMPORTANT if you are looking to get your marketing message out there in a BIG WAY !!

Most people that I know can benefit from a crash course in persuasive writing… It  has an insanely high payoff.

There are TONS of writing gurus and teachers out there. And I currently study with one of the Masters. However, when I first got started…I plugged into John Carlton and learned alot !!! I’ve been thankful I did that ever since.

John has reduced the mystery of persuasive writing to a 17 point formula called the Simple Writing System. Alot of people that have gone through it and they ALL rave about it.

Writing and communication is the MOST critical skill you can have for your business..

And when the big boys need copywriting help…   Who do they turn to???

They ALL go to John Carlton.

And this week he is giving away GOOD STUFF.

If you want to learn how to write sales letters and emails that work you  NEED to listen to John.

He only does this twice a year so be sure to visit his site and  get the free training…

Yes…after all the free stuff he will try to sell you his course…

But you don’t have to BUY ANYTHING to get the stuff on his blog  which is truly topnotch….

www.SimpleWritingSystem.com/blog/

Make sure you put your name and email in on the right  so you get all the goodies!

And learn this stuff.

You know that I am committed to showing you how to build a REAL business.

Writing is the CORNERSTONE of a lasting one….

Most entrepreneurs and biz owners never figure it out… and it’s why they struggle….

YOU can thank me later…!!!

13 Mistakes That Bloggers Make …

If you have a blog or any sort of an online presence …

You will get better results once you read this post from Denise Wakeman of the BlogSquad

13 Mistakes Bloggers Make

Denise helps businesses get maximum results from blogs.

Denise also has a FREE 5 part video course on how to get the best out of your blog to create massive visibility and attract more clients…

She discusses many of the same things that I do in “Dead Blogs Don’t  Lie !!!

The videos are between 8 and 12 minutes each and will give you a golden nugget or two about why business blogs are important for your
business and what you need to do in order to effectively leverage a blog for your business….

If you have any questions or comments …. feel free to type them  below !!!

Great gal pals and fellow entrepreneurs Jody Maley and Charlotte Salafia of DesignedForDivineDestinations.com and I had a GREAT time on BlogTalkRadio this morning…

How could we not…

Right off the bat…

Modern miracle technology delayed us from actually getting into the show on time…OR…Maybe it was because it was Monday morning and we just didn’t have enough coffee… who knows…???

It’s not the OOOPS that counts…

It’s how you handle the OOOPS that determines the outcome…LOL

So…I did what I do best…and I started prattling a bit until we got everything under control…

And we started 10 minutes late…LOL

Quite a number of people actually hung around waiting for the show to begin….

Talk about being truly dedicated to learning and moving yourselves forward … in spite of

KUDOS to all of you….

Well…the reports that have been flying in from all directions are that the show was a HIT !!

WooHOOO… Thank YOU…thank YOU…thank YOU…  everyone…

We had a wonderful conversation about BLOGGING

It is something that all three of us a very passionate about…

And it is a TREMENDOUS BUSINESS TOOL when used properly…

For anyone that missed the call…or would like to hear it from the conversation actually starts…

Here is an edited recording of the show…minus the 10 minutes of dead air….

Please feel free to leave your comments below…and if you like what YOU hear on the call…take a minute to share the love…

YOU are appreciated !!
