The timing of this video could not be better…

Here is a question for you to think about ….

Could the Facebook Marketing that Diane Hochman…Mia Davies…Scott Manesis and Derek Alvarez did over the past few days be considered spamming…???

Is Controversy A Good Marketing Strategy ~ Part 2

Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate ~  Sun Tzu (544-496 BC) ancient Chinese military general and strategist….

Maybe Sun Tzu should have been a network marketer…???

This is a follow up to the post that I wrote yesterday….

There is some VERY interesting PSYCHOLOGY going on….

Your mission …should you choose to accept it…

Is to explain the psychology…the words that were used to trigger certain responses…

Describe your over all impressions … Gut feeling etc.

You can write all of this in the comments box below !!

We will discuss this in our next blogging class !!

My buddy…Scott Manesis …. is the guy that “caused” all of this controversy… with his original post on Diane’s video….

Scott…being a very skilled marketer…leveraged all of this “noise” to his advantage….

Creating a blog post…that he subsequently posted to Facebook….

The comments to which are listed below….

You can read HIS blog post by clicking on his name above….that link will take you directly to his blog….

All of this spurred another friend of mine…Derek Alvarez…to write a blog post about “Driving Traffic” which you can read on his blog.

These videos and the comments … have created a huge BUZZ in our networking circles…which means alot of exposure  for lots of people…

And…because the information that is being created around all of this is of the highest caliber….everyone wins…

Please feel free to share your opinions and thoughts below….

As I said…we will talk about this on Thursday !!

One of my friends made a fairly controversial comment….which caused a really big stir…

Now here is what is interesting about this….

Today a young marketer created a video response to Diane’s video….you can watch it below !!

Below are screenshots  of the responses to Mia’s videos…

The point is this. You don’t have to always agree with everyone, and odds are that you won’t. Do not be afraid to post your thoughts. After all social media would be NO fun if everyone was the same and no one offered a unique perspective. One caveat with this technique…be very careful how you position yourself. If you are a good practitioner of spin control…you should have some fun. If not…pick your topics and targets carefully!!

I have read that statement so many times that I actually became numb to the message it delivers. Henry David Thoreau lived in a different century than you and I. Henry David Thoreau never invented any mousetraps. And the world never beat a path to his door. I personally think that Henry David Thoreau was a tad delusional. People are NOT mice  and should not be LURED and TRAPPED into anything...people need to be educated so that they see the VALUE  of what you are selling as the BEST SOLUTION to their problems. Selling Has Changed.

Today, if you’ve got better mousetraps, new technology, or a superior solution to any kind of business problem, you’re faced with some very tough challenges. Your customers and prospects are totally overwhelmed with choices. They’re relentlessly hounded by all sorts of marketers. They hide behind their computers and guard against unwanted annoyances with caller id. Unwanted emails are zapped into the ethos with one push of the delete button. Your website…your blog… is just hanging out there in cyberspace with millions of others.

Have you ever said to yourself? “I’ve got the most fantastic product—I know that people will love what I have to show them, if I can only get them to listen to what I have to say!”

The most precious commodity in business today is attention.

This blog is all about one thing…Getting and Keeping the Attention of your prospects and customers. Getting them so interested in YOU and what YOU have say so that they chase you, instead of you hunting them down. You must certain that every dollar you invest in your advertising and marketing comes back to you with interest attached.

Effective marketing is not a collection of slick techniques that temporarily tricks people into falsely believing that your stuff is better than everybody else’s. It’s effective communication of your unique message – communication that is rooted in unchanging principles.
